ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Construction Laborer cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
The Construction Laborer reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
The Construction Laborer controls traffic passing near, in, and around work zones.
The Construction Laborer signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
The Construction Laborer digs ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, and rakes.
The Construction Laborer measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
Haul and hoist materials
Clean the construction site to eliminate possible hazards
Dig ditches and excavations for foundations
Drive stakes
Clean tools and equipment
Load and unload trucks
Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, or gravel
Grind, sand, and polish surfaces
Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a consistent basis.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Construction equipment operators work outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
High School Diploma
Valid Drivers License
