Thermite Weld Cap by Farwest Corrosion

Protects a Cable-to-Structure Connection. Requires Mastic Coating.
  • A Thermite Weld Cap is simply a square sheet with a formed dome that is constructed of 20 mil thick, high-density, vacuum and heat pressed polyethylene plastic. The cap is used to protect a brazed or thermite welded cable-to-structure connection such as a “Cadweld” connection.

Thermite weld caps are supplied for field application of a thick mastic coating, such as Carboline Bitumastic 50 or similar.  The mastic can either be applied to the thermite weld cap, like peanut butter to bread, and applied to the structure or spread direclty onto the structure followed by the cap.  It is a simple and cost effective method for protecting cable connections.
